Have you ever looked into a mirror and wonderedwhat happened that changed you from the last timeyou looked? Good news! It really doesnt matter ifit was a good change or not!Why not? Because you really arent looking atsomething thats real! Its not only temporary butits distorted!Gods Word is Your Mirror of RealityWe are told in 2 Corinthians 3:18 that Gods Wordgives us a clear picture of who we are and what wehave been promised. When we look into that mirror we actually see thereal reflection and as we do it more we become moreand more like Jesus. That is our goal. There are many times that people try and try tofollow all of a list of rules. They think Christianityis too difficult and give up trying. They are lookingat the distorted, blurry image and thinking that itspermanent.RealityGod loves us so much that Hes made it easy for usto change for the better. His word is our mirror ofthe reality of how He sees us, not how we do. Its nice, and hard to believe sometimes, that someonethinks good things about us. We might not even likeourselves all the time. The amazing and awesome thing is that God sees usdifferently. He sees a clear and beautiful image ofHis children. Mirror of Reality Changes our perspectivesIn His Word He describes who we are. In Jesus weare His children. We are heirs to the promises thatHe gave us.To see the real image ourselves were to read whatHes said. The mirror of reality actually changes us!When we look into what God has said we learn whowe are and more.In 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 we are told what love is...What we are as children of God.Were to be like our Father God (Ephesians 1:5). The word "followers" in the verse from the Greeklanguage means to "mimic". If youve ever watched young kids and comparedthem to their parents, youll see how they imitatethem in a lot of ways. God designed this and wantsus as His children to do the same. Were to mimicGod... He is love (1John 4:8). That can be an overwhelming thought! It can easilybe taken as a list of dos and donts. In the physicalrealm its really impossible to do a good job of thatall the time! But in the spiritual realm God alreadydid this for us!When we look to Jesus and keep our eyes on Him wesee changes in ourselves taking place with little efforton our parts! He changes us into the reality that Hesees in us!Keep your focus on reality! Live in Gods Word...Itll stay the same forever! You may use this article for electronic distribution ifyou will include all contact information with linksback to the author.
